Charminster Women's Institute celebrates it's centenary
Charminster Women's Institute celebrates its 100th birthday in March and to celebrate, members are holding an exhibition at the Village Hall.
There have always been strong ties between the WI and the Village Hall. Members have met at the hall ever since they came together for the first time at the end of the first world war. The exhibition will be held in the Village Hall on Saturday 17th March from 10.00am until 4.30pm.
Everyone is welcome, entrance is free and there will be delicious WI tea, coffee and cakes for sale. There will also be a grand raffle and produce table.
James Haddow, the Taxi Driver Poet will be performing at 2.30. James made his name reciting his poems to customers in the back of his cab. In the Village Hall, he'll be performing his rhymes of life, love and the WI.
WI members are also marking their anniversary by creating a beautiful wall hanging depicting the history of Charminster. The tapestry will hang in the village hall.
